Quality control (Point)

In the CQ laboratory , where highly skilled and trained staff work, we can perform particle size powders analysis by dry and wet laser technique. Laboratory instruments and equipment are qualified and regularly calibrated. Powders can also be examined using optical microscope and the data collected are processed through an image analysis software. The quality of the micronized material is constantly monitored during the production process. QC establishes sampling plans and analytical methods to verify that products conform customer specifications. All laboratory tests are performed and documented at the time of performance, deviations from written procedures are documented and justified. Particle size analysis is conducted on each production batch by laser diffraction technique, particle size is performed on starting material, IPC and final product. To determine satisfactory conformance to established specifications .Identified reserved samples of startingmaterial and representative of each micronized batch are retained for six years according to internal procedure. Analytical methods are validated according ICH2 and follow the customer requirements.

Pneumatic post (Point)

A pneumatic sample transfer system to accelerate the transfer from the sampling points to the laboratory.The automation allows, on one hand, not to divert the staff from their duties and at the same time reduces the time of arrival of the samples to the laboratory: the system takes just 15 seconds to make the delivery, ensuring the total integrity of the sample.

Automatic analyzer of particle size distribution and particle shape. In just a few minutes the Morphology G35 is able to manage (through SOP) in complete automation all the analysis process: from dry dispersion thanks to the integrated system, to the measurement of over 150 000 particles. The management and acquisition software allows to characterize the analyzes with granulometric, shape and light transparency curves.

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is the most frequently used thermal analysis technique. DSC measures enthalpy changes in samples due to changes in their physical and chemical properties as a function of temperature or time.   The DSC utilizes an innovative DSC sensor with 120 thermocouples which guarantees unbeatable sensitivity and outstanding resolution. Measurement principles Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measures the difference between the heat flows from the sample and reference sides of a sensor as a function of temperature or time.

Our history (Point)

IMS started as a Chemical trading company in 1973 by its founder Salvatore Marangoni.In 1980 IMS receives the authorization from the Ministry of Health but only in 1988, the company focuses its activities exclusively on the powder processing, especially micronization becoming a benchmark in the pharmaceutical sector.In 2004 IMS is certified according to ISO 9001, certification it still holds.In 2005 the continuous evolution and expansion of the global pharmaceutical market has led IMS to a challenge to obtain in the same year, the approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).Always in the perspective of growth , in 2007 the company obtained the “accreditation” by the PMDA in Japan in 2012 and the approval from the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA).IMS is currently inspected by the Italian Drug Agency (AIFA) and by the Food and Drug Administration.
